The design works to provide useful, useable and desirable design to those who are ignored by the market. Issues like ethics, compassion, altruism and philanthropy. It is an attitude that emphasises the needs and experiences of people.

Discursive Design is to communicate ideas - they encourage discourse. It help to raise awareness and understanding of substantive database issues such as psychology, sociology, and ideology. It is an object that has been intentionally (and usually abstractly) embedded with discourse and/or is used to elicit discussion. Discursive design is the type of work that is less visible in the marketplace - often see in exhibition, print and film. This is where design form together with art.
