Brief summary and reflection

First and foremost, Diane Ridgway-Cross mention that women is the biggest buyers in the world with 3/4 of the consumer power. As a result, woman have the power to choose what they want to buy and who they want to buy from. To become a conscious consumer, we have to be very mindful on the products we buy such as brand / companies that we choose to buy from. Not only that, it can also wield the purchase power by rewarding the companies and brands that stand for our beliefs and values. As a consequence, small changes can make a different by standing for what we believe in our values and voice out to make a different.

The key aspect that I find useful is that 4/5 of the woman willing to pay more for the goods and services to the companies with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Companies / brands gauge us with cheap retails price and discounts. For example, the Body Shop (against animals testing), Tom Shoes (charity) and Google (providing opportunities for the woman in Computer Science Field).

Woman are able to come up with 10 companies for boycotting. As a conscious consumer, woman are very mindful when they go shopping because 'every action start with one person'. We have to stand for our rights by doing the right things and value in life.
