Descriptive
First week of class, a brief introduction on Graphic Design in Context. In addition to that, I received a project on I Am Amplifier (PLACARD).
Reflective
1) Visual Language of Protest - The behaviours, systems, and patterns of what we as a society accept and promote.
2) Design typography - Creates a powerful content for people.
3) Design principle and technique – Can able to change the context in its original state.
Formative
My group have discussed regarding the manifesto First Things First 1964 by Ken Garland. Then we compare our answer and provided better explanation to the subsequence question. Some of my point were, advertising has long been recognised as an important cultural force by media and cultural studies scholars. Graphic design, despite its comparable ubiquity, has rarely been the subject of this kind of critique. Where these activities have been discussed, the emphasis has been overwhelmingly on their textual manifestations (graphics, ads, commercials) and, occasionally, on their reception. Not only that, advertising can focus on concrete product attributes or on lifestyle expressions and abstract benefits. In the context of print advertising for luxury brands, the authors explored the relationship among advertising style, advertising language and consumers' willingness to pay through the lens of construal level theory.
